Privacy Policy

AmuseMind is built for children, so we collect as little as we can. Children play without an account, we don’t use advertising or tracking, and we never sell personal information.

The short version

  • Children never have accounts. Anyone can play without signing up or giving a name or email.
  • No ads, no tracking, no cookies. We don’t use advertising, third-party analytics trackers or social media pixels. Our own play counts are anonymous daily totals (see below).
  • Hints send only the board. When the hint coach is used, we send the positions of the puzzle pieces, never a name, a typed message or anything that identifies a child.
  • We never sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Who we are

AmuseMind (amusemind.com) is run by Arthiq Tech Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202545750G), 68 Circular Road #02, Singapore 049422 (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the information described here. Contact us at founders@amusemind.com.

What we collect, and why

When anyone plays

  • Settings on your device. Your chosen level, table colour and whether sound is on are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device only. We can’t see them. Clear your browser’s site data to remove them.
  • Anonymous play counts. When a challenge is started or solved, your browser tells us only which puzzle and level, so we can see which puzzles children enjoy and which are too hard. We add it to a daily total; no id, device, name or anything else about you or your child is sent or kept.
  • Crash reports. If a page or puzzle breaks, your browser sends us the error message, the page it happened on and the browser type, so we can fix it. Nothing that identifies you or your child is included, and reports are deleted within 30 days.
  • Basic server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) briefly processes technical information such as IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use this to identify or profile anyone.

When the hint coach is used

  • We send the puzzle’s board state (which pieces are where) to our server, which asks an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to word a short hint. No name, account, typed text or device identifier is included. Anthropic processes the request to return the hint and does not use it to train its models under its commercial terms.

When a parent asks to hear about parent accounts

  • On our parent accounts page a grown-up can leave an email address so we can tell them, once, when accounts open. We collect only that address, use it only for that one email, and delete it after sending (or within 12 months if accounts haven’t opened).

When a school or teacher requests a demo

  • The form on our For schools page collects the name, work email, role, school, country, school size and any notes you choose to give. We use it only to reply and arrange the demo, and delete it when it is no longer needed for that (normally within 24 months).

When parent accounts and Family Pro open

  • The parent’s name, email and sign-in method (Apple, Google or an email link), to run the account.
  • For each child the parent adds: a nickname the parent chooses (shown only to the parent), an age band, a player icon and their puzzle progress, so we can save progress and write the parent’s progress notes. We ask parents not to use a child’s real full name.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive the subscription status and the last four digits and expiry of the card, never the full card number.

Children’s privacy

Our puzzles are designed for children aged about 3 to 14. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children: children can’t create accounts, there is no chat, and nothing a child types is stored or sent to the hint coach. Only a parent or guardian can create a Family Pro account and add a child profile, and doing so is the parent’s consent for us to keep that profile and its progress.

Parents can see, change, download or delete their child’s profile and progress at any time from the parent area, or by writing to us. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We aim to meet children’s privacy laws including the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). See our plain-language children’s privacy summary.

Schools

When schools use AmuseMind, students join a class by code without an email address. We process class data only on the school’s instructions, for the school’s educational purposes, and sign data protection agreements with schools that need them (for example under FERPA in the US). We never use student data for advertising or to build profiles unrelated to school.

Who we share information with

Only the service providers we need to run AmuseMind, each bound to protect the data and use it only for us:

  • Cloudflare: hosting and security.
  • Anthropic: wording hints from board positions (no personal information).
  • Neon: our database, once parent accounts open.
  • Stripe: payments, once Family Pro opens.
  • An email provider: sign-in links and the weekly progress email parents choose to receive.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Some providers process data outside your country, including in the United States; we rely on their contractual safeguards for those transfers.

How long we keep it

  • Parent accounts and child profiles: until the parent deletes them or closes the account, then within 30 days.
  • Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Demo requests: normally up to 24 months.
  • Parent-account emails: until we send the one email, at most 12 months.
  • Hints: we don’t store the board or the hint after replying, beyond short-lived error logs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information, or withdraw consent. Parents can do most of this themselves in the parent area. Otherwise write to founders@amusemind.com and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Commission).

Security

Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited to people who need it, and we keep as little as possible in the first place. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For important changes affecting parent accounts, we will email parents before they take effect.
